Detroit, MI - Multi-Vehicle Wreck w/Injuries on M-39 at I-94

Detroit, MI (September 3, 2023) - At least one person was hospitalized early on Sunday, September 3, when three automobiles collided on a highway near the Detroit area.

The incident occurred at 4:15 a.m. on northbound Highway 39, close to the exit ramp and transition area to Interstate 94. According to initial accounts, the incident completely shut down the highway. Officers from the Detroit Police Department contacted local EMS workers and Michigan State Police troopers for assistance in the investigation.

It's unknown how many individuals were engaged in the event, but paramedics came immediately after to help the wounded victims. The DPD is asking for anybody who may have information to come forward.

While this investigation is still happening, the DPD is in charge of it.
