Clinton Twp., MI – Injuries Follow Crash on 16 Mile Rd near Clinton River

Detroit, MI (September 5, 2023) - A fatal hit-and-run crash shut down Cotton Road on Tuesday morning, September 5, per reports from the Chesterfield County Sheriff's Office.

Chesterfield deputies say that at least two or three vehicles were involved in the incident, which completely shut down all lanes of the roadway between Gratiot Avenue and Donner. Police responded just before noon and requested backup medical aid, though it's unclear how many people were killed or hurt.

One of the drivers apparently fled the scene after the collision, and deputies are searching for witnesses who may have seen the motorist and can identify their vehicle.

In the interim, Chesterfield deputies are continuing their investigation.

Our deepest condolences are with the families of the deceased. Our thoughts are with all injured victims and their loved ones. We hope for their complete recovery.
