Detroit, MI - I-696 Scene of Car Wreck, Injuries at Greenfield

Detroit, MI (September 11, 2023) - Detroit Police Department officers received a collision warning and a report of injuries on westbound I-696 at about 8:00 a.m. on Monday, September 11.

The Michigan Department of Transportation and the Detroit Police Department have confirmed that the accident occurred at 9:45 a.m. near the Greenfield Road exit. Reports of a crash involving many vehicles and a small group of people prompted officials to close lanes of traffic and call for backup.

All wounded individuals were immediately attended to by paramedics; however, it is yet unclear how they are doing. The authorities are still looking into the accident, and further details will be released when they become available.
