Motorcycle Accidents in Michigan
Many people like motorcycling along Michigan’s 3,288 miles of shoreline to take in the state’s gorgeous scenery and the Great Lakes. The number of motorcycle accidents in our state is just too high. There were 2,722 motorcycle-related traffic incidents in Michigan in a single year, according to data from the state’s Office of Highway Safety Planning (OHSP).
Motorcyclists in Michigan may best protect themselves from serious injury in the event of a mishap by being vigilant and always using a helmet with a face shield or other form of protective eyewear. Even though people are becoming more aware of the heightened vulnerability of motorcyclists compared to motorists, these accidents still keep happening.
If you were hurt in a motorcycle accident in Michigan, a personal injury attorney may help you fight for compensation.
-Your attorney will file a formal demand to the insurance company after calculating the total amount of your losses (including damages, medical bills, and lost income). The next step is for your lawyer to negotiate a payout with your insurer. A counteroffer might be made if the adjuster disagrees with the proposed settlement amount.
-Your personal injury attorney may then suggest launching a lawsuit in response to your injuries. The insurance company may offer a greater settlement to keep the matter out of court. Your attorney and the insurer may probably exchange letters and phone calls many times before arriving at a fair compromise. A neutral third-party mediator may be required to help the opposing parties reach an agreement.
-During mediation, each party is urged to speak their mind freely and openly. Mediation is often where the best offer from the insurer is made known.
