Kalamazoo, MI (September 29, 2023) - An accident involving a bicyclist and one driver occurred on Thursday, September 28, after reports of similar crashes in the area over the last several weeks.
Officers with the Kalamazoo Police Department said the incident occurred on Westnedge Lane. The bicyclist, an adult male, claims he swerved to avoid a panhandler in the bike lane and was struck by a vehicle that had not signaled its turn.
The bicyclist reported that the driver was traveling over twenty miles per hour when the incident occurred. The bicyclist sustained minor injuries and is expected to recover.
It's unknown if the driver remained at the site. However, the investigation into the incident is still ongoing. The KPD is seeking any witnesses or anybody else who may have information regarding this incident.
