Waverly Township, MI (November 11, 2023) - An accident on Friday morning left one person injured in Waverly Township.
The Van Buren County Sheriff's Office received a call about a collision on Michigan Highway 43 at M-40 at about 6:30 a.m.
Upon arrival, the deputies found that a 2013 Ford F250 traveling west ran a red light and collided with a utility trailer pulled by a 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee traveling south. The sheriff's office said that the 52-year-old female Jeep driver from Gobles suffered injuries and was transported to an area hospital by EMTs.
A 38-year-old man from Kalamazoo was driving the Ford and was issued a citation for "hazardous actions," according to the sheriff's office.
The cause of the accident has yet to be determined.
