Plainfield Township, MI (November 24, 2023) - An accident in Plainfield Township on Thursday night resulted in the death of an 18-year-old and severe injuries to a 19-year-old. Around 8:30 p.m., the collision occurred on Jericho Avenue, close to Peter Creek Drive. One of the drivers reportedly lost control of a northbound Volkswagen Jetta prior to the wreck. Serious injuries were sustained by the driver, a 19-year-old woman from Plainfield Township, who was transported to a hospital. One passenger, an 18-year-old woman from Grand Rapids, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The deputies' investigation has yet to determine a cause for the accident, though an inquiry remains ongoing.
