Detroit, MI – Auto Wreck on I-696 near Mound Rd (Exit 22)

Detroit, MI (December 14, 2023) – On Wednesday evening, the Michigan State Police and Detroit firefighters were summoned to provide assistance at the scene of an automobile accident that took place in Macomb and ended in injuries. The accident occurred just before 710 p.m. on December 13. The crash pounded officials to close down multiple lanes on the westbound side of Interstate 696.

Upon arriving at the scene, authorities located damaged vehicles on the roadway near Exit 22 at Mound Road. The Michigan Department of Transportation reported extensive delays in the area as emergency crews were provided assistance. Medical personnel tended to the injured victims before transporting them to local hospitals. The Michigan State Police are currently investigating to determine what caused this collision to occur.
