Macomb, MI – Accident on I-696 near Van Dyke Ave

Macomb, MI (December 21, 2023) – Officers with the Michigan State Police were called to provide assistance at the scene of an automobile accident that occurred on Wednesday morning in Macomb. The crash took place just before 9:40 a.m. on December 20. According to MSP, a collision between vehicles blocked multiple eastbound lanes of Interstate 696 in the area near Van Dyke Avenue.

The incident slowed traffic throughout the area, prompting authorities to shut down the roadway for an extended period. At least one of the people involved in the crash sustained injuries and had to be transported to a local medical facility for treatment. The state police are currently investigating the incident.
