Bloomfield Twp., MI – Driver Hurt in Train Crash on S Opdyke St

Bloomfield Twp., MI (December 27, 2023) - A driver was left seriously injured as a result of a motor vehicle accident involving a train that took place in Bloomfield Township on Sunday, December 24. Calls for assistance were received by the Bloomfield Township Police Department at approximately 5:40 p.m.

According to reports provided by authorities, a 77-year-old from Allen Park was driving a 2023 Buick Encore in the area of South Opdyke Road and Kensington Road during the evening hours.  As the vehicle proceeded forward, it was struck by a Canadian National Railway Co. train. The vehicle driver was seriously injured as a result of the crash. The victim was rushed to an area hospital for emergency treatment. The Bloomfield Township Police Department is currently investigating the crash.
