Macomb, MI (January 24, 2024) – At least one person was transported to an area hospital with injuries following a motor vehicle accident that occurred in Macomb. The crash was reported to law enforcement at approximately 9:55 a.m. on January 23.

According to area officials, vehicles collided on Michigan 53 during the morning hours. The incident prompted the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office to close the roadway with the assistance of firefighters. Authorities spent an extended amount of time on the roadway near 28 Mile Road as they worked to remove one of the vehicles from a ditch. At least one person was injured in the crash. Medical personnel tended to those harmed before transporting them to area hospitals. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
