Zeeland, MI (January 22, 2022) - A collision in Zeeland involving two trucks resulted in the injury of an Illinois man on Friday night, January 21. The accident took place on Interstate 196 near Byron Road at around 11 p.m.
A man is believed to have suffered a medical issue and sideswiped a semi-truck. A man from Mount Pleasant, Illinois was driving a box truck when he sideswiped a 2004 Freightliner semi-truck headed eastbound. The box truck then overturned in the median.
The Illinois man was transported to Zeeland hospital for the treatment of sustained injuries. No further information has been released at this time.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the semi-truck crash is underway.
