Serious Auto Accidents in Detroit
Every 10 seconds, a car crash occurs somewhere in the United States, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Unfortunately, the bulk of personal injury claims examined by our courts are now related to vehicle accidents, and this is true both on a national and a state level in Michigan.
Insurance companies in Michigan often adhere to a “no-fault” policy, which means that they will not investigate who was at fault in an accident. First-party gains (monetary damages) and third-party losses (such as pain and suffering) are both compensable in a negligence lawsuit.
See a lawyer after a car crash, even if you don’t believe you were seriously hurt and the crash itself wasn’t complicated. Research shows that litigants who lawyers represent get higher awards than those who do not. Victims may hesitate to hire an attorney out of concern that doing so may deplete their little funds.
Fortunately, most lawyers who specialize in personal injury lawsuits accept cases on a contingency fee basis. In a variety of situations, it might help to have legal representation. If you grant your lawyer permission, they may represent you in dealings with insurers and other parties. Your lawyer will investigate all of your legal options to determine who was to blame in the accident and why you should get compensation. This approach entails conducting interviews with prospective witnesses and collecting relevant data.
