Grand Traverse, MI – Accident on US-31 near Rennie School Rd

Grand Traverse, MI (December 21, 2023) – A power outage was reported in Grand Traverse following a motor vehicle accident on Tuesday that sent an unknown number of people with injuries to area hospitals. The accident occurred at around 5:50 a.m. on December 19.

According to reports, a vehicle collision occurred on US Highway 31 in the area near Rennie School Road. The incident resulted in one of the involved vehicles going off the roadway and striking a light pole. Multiple power lines fell down as a result of the accident, causing a widespread power outage in the Chum’s Corner neighborhood. Emergency medical services responded to the scene of the accident. A female involved in the crash was injured and rushed to an area hospital for emergency care. At this time, the number of additional victims injured in the crash is not known. The accident is being investigated.
