Richland Twp., MI (January 9, 2024) – Kalamazoo County officials confirmed that a woman lost her life as a result of a car crash that occurred on Sunday morning in Richland Township. The crash was reported to officials at around 8:40 a.m. on January 7.

According to area law enforcement, a Ford Fusion was heading eastbound on Michigan 89 during the morning hours when it collided head-on with a Dodge Durango near East B Avenue. The driver of the Ford, identified as a 20-year-old woman from Allegan, Michigan, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Durango, a 41-year-old man from Plainwell, Michigan, was injured. He was transported to an area hospital for emergency treatment. At this time, investigations into the crash are ongoing.
