Fremont Twp., MI – Deputy Hurt in Crash on M-24 near E Blackmore Rd

Fremont Twp., MI (February 18, 2024) – Emergency crews were requested at the scene of an automobile accident that sent a Tuscola County sheriff’s deputy to a local hospital with injuries. The accident was reported at approximately 7:40 p.m. on February 16.

Official reports indicate that a deputy was struck by a vehicle on Michigan 24 near East Blackmore Road while assisting at the scene of a disabled vehicle on the highway. The deputy was severely injured in the accident. He was flown by flight care to a local hospital for emergency treatment. The driver involved in the accident was arrested for OWI- third offense. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
