Detroit, MI – Accident with Injuries Reported on I-696 near I-75

Detroit, MI (March 10, 2024) – A motor vehicle accident reported in the Detroit area on Saturday ended in injuries. At approximately 12:30 p.m. on March 9, the Michigan State Police, firefighters, and emergency medical services were all requested at the scene of a motor vehicle collision that occurred on Interstate 696.

According to official reports, vehicles collided on the eastbound side of the interstate just after the exit for Interstate 75. The right lane and right shoulder were blocked as a result of the accident, prompting the closure of the lane. Medical personnel responded to treat injured victims while at the scene. Injured parties that required further medical attention were transported to area hospitals. One tow truck responded to the scene of the accident to remove one of the involved vehicles. Investigations into the accident are currently underway by the state police.
