Macomb, MI – Major Crash on I-696 near Van Dyke Ave

Macomb, MI (March 13, 2024) – A major motor vehicle accident was reported in the Macomb area on Tuesday evening, sending at least one person to a local hospital with injuries. The Michigan State Police, firefighters, and EMS were all requested at the scene at around 5:45 p.m. on March 12.

According to police reports, an automobile accident occurred on Interstate 696. The incident blocked multiple lanes of the road on the eastbound side near Van Dyke Avenue. Multiple law enforcement agencies responded to the scene of the accident. Authorities located one of the vehicles in the center median, which had significant damage. Emergency medical services treated the injured victims on-site before transporting them to local hospitals. At this time, investigations into the crash are ongoing.
