Chester Twp., MI (June 17, 2025) – Authorities are investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Sunday, June 15, in Chester Township. According to the Michigan State Police, the two-vehicle collision happened around noon at the intersection of Mulliken Road and Michigan 50 Highway.
The crash involved a southbound Chevy Equinox driven by a 30-year-old woman from Mulliken. Troopers say she failed to stop at a posted sign and entered the intersection, where her vehicle collided with an eastbound Chrysler Pacifica. The Pacifica, driven by a 43-year-old Portland woman, was struck on its side during the impact.
A 29-year-old male passenger riding in the Pacifica was ejected from the vehicle. He was rushed to the University of Michigan Hospital in Charlotte, where he later died from his injuries. Officials have not confirmed whether he was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Both drivers suffered minor injuries and were transported to UM Hospital for treatment. Police say alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors in the collision. The investigation remains active.
We extend our sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of the victim.
