Auburn Hills, MI (December 19, 2021) – At about 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 19, a car accident caused injuries and shut down a portion of an interstate in Auburn Hills, Wayne County.
Officials confirmed that the accident took place in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 96 near Davison Avenue. An unknown number of vehicles collided causing injuries to those involved, according to reports.
Emergency medics were seen rendering aid at the scene while police investigated the cause of the accident. Only one lane of traffic was open while responders worked at the crash site. Traffic was backed up in the area for an extended period of time.
