Alpine Twp, MI (January 28, 2022) – There were serious injuries after a two-vehicle crash in Alpine Township on Thursday night, January 27. The accident was reported at around 6 p.m. at the intersection of Fruit Ridge and Stage Avenues.
A parol car was responding to a call headed northbound at the intersection. A tow truck was headed south and was preparing to make a turn. A sedan traveling behind the truck lost control due to the icy roadways and crossed the centerline.
The patrol vehicle and the sedan crashed head-on. The 40-year-old Walker man driving the sedan was hospitalized for the treatment of serious injuries. The deputy was also taken to a local medical facility.
An ongoing investigation into the crash is underway.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
Head-On Crashes in Michigan
A head-on collision is more likely to result in fatal injuries than other types of car accidents. With a death rate of over 58%, head-on collisions are among the deadliest. They are responsible for more than 10% of all annual road fatalities despite accounting for less than 2% of all reported traffic accidents. Careless or distracted drivers swerving into opposing lanes of traffic are the most common cause of these collisions.
Injured plaintiffs must make the right decisions in the moments following an accident in order to maximize the value of their damage claim. After a serious accident, many victims are unsure how to obtain the compensation they require. As a result, they might feel alone and perplexed. When injured people try to fight a large insurance company on their own, they frequently run into roadblocks and other problems. This only adds to the situation’s stress and frustration. In some cases, injured parties can speak with a knowledgeable Alpine Township car accident lawyer about their legal options for filing a claim and receiving fair compensation.
