Girard, MI (February 16, 2022) – On Tuesday morning, February 14, one person sustained injuries in a two-car accident at an intersection in Girard. The Branch County Sheriff’s Department reported that the victim was an 84-year-old man from Tekonsha.
The crash occurred when a 37-year-old Wyoming man was headed west on Jonesville Road. He stopped for a stop sign at Marshall Road before entering the intersection at around 11:45 a.m.
According to the Sheriff’s Department, he collided with the elderly Tekonsha man who was then transported by LifeCare Ambulance to ProMedical Coldwater Regional Hospital. His injuries were deemed non-life-threatening.
Police continue to investigate the incident. They were assisted by LifeCare Ambulance and Coldwater firefighters at the scene.
Nothing further has been reported at this time. We hope for the full recovery of the injured victim.
