Jackson, MI (March 17, 2022) - On Tuesday night, March 15, a highly intoxicated man caused injuries to several people in downtown Jackson. Police were called to the scene at approximately 10:34 p.m.

Sources say the incident occurred when the intoxicated man got into an argument with his girlfriend. He left the scene, got behind the wheel of a motor vehicle, then got into an accident on the 500 block of West Ganson Street near Backus Street.

The wreck involved a Nissan Sentra. The driver of the Sentra sustained injuries and was transported from the scene to a local hospital by ambulance. A passenger present in the Sentra was also injured and transported from the scene for treatment.

The suspect was arrested and lodged in the Jackson County Jail.

He also hit and killed a dog while he was intoxicated, according to reports.

Police continue to investigate the details of the accident.
