Detroit, MI (September 18, 2023) – On Monday evening, September 18, officers with the Detroit Police Department fielded an accident alert and a complaint of injuries after a serious rollover wreck occurred on Lakeside Circle.
The DPD and the Michigan Department of Transportation report that the accident occurred around 6:30 p.m. near Lakeside Mall. Officials shut down several lanes of traffic to investigate, and their preliminary findings suggest that two drivers and a few passengers were involved in the rollover crash, prompting the dispatch of emergency personnel.
Paramedics arrived shortly thereafter, but no information on the victims’ injuries or current conditions has been released.
Officers are still investigating in the interim and will provide additional information as it becomes available.
We are keeping the injured victims and their loved ones in our thoughts now.
What to Do After a Michigan Crash
Car accidents are on the rise year after year, both nationwide and across Michigan. Unfortunately, most of these incidents are largely avoidable, especially because speeding and reckless driving or driver distraction are two of the top causes of collisions today.
However, when driver negligence or carelessness has left you with injuries, you may be able to file a claim and get compensated for your suffering and financial losses. Victims of auto accidents often endure long-lasting physical pain and trauma, not to mention financial difficulties in the aftermath of a crash. Brain injuries, burns, spinal cord damage, broken bones, internal bleeding, and other potentially fatal wounds are all too common, even in relatively low-speed or seemingly minor collisions. After having their lives turned upside-down by an accident, victims also cope with post-traumatic stress disorder, stress, frustration, and uncertainty.
With that said, even if another driver clearly caused your car accident, you may still have trouble navigating the complexities of Michigan personal injury law and making ends meet on your own. When victims attempt to negotiate with insurers without the aid of a qualified attorney, adjusters for these companies will utilize any and all measures possible to avoid offering fair, full compensation for their losses.
On the other hand, hiring an experienced attorney can help you obtain the maximum compensation you need after an accident. Moreover, you will never have to pay any up-front fees when you hire a lawyer on contingency. Your attorney will only get paid if they win a settlement or court case on your behalf. You, the client, will agree to pay the attorney a specified proportion (often between 30% and 40%) of the settlement obtained. And if your claim is unsuccessful, you won’t have to pay any legal fees.
