Garfield Twp., MI – Three Hurt in N Long Lake Rd Crash near Herkner Rd

Garfield Twp., MI (January 1, 2024) – Emergency crews were summoned to provide assistance at the scene of an automobile accident that took place in Grand Traverse County on Wednesday and ended in injuries. On December 27, authorities were notified that an automobile collision occurred on North Long Lake Road.

Crash investigations determined that a 21-year-old woman lost control of her vehicle, crossed over the center line of North Long Lake Road near Herkner Road, and became involved in a collision. The force of the crash caused the vehicle to go off the roadway and overturn. The driver and a 20-year-old male involved in the accident both suffered injuries. The two victims were transported to Munson Medical Center for emergency medical care. Authorities closed off the roadway for more than five hours as they investigated the incident. At this time, the police believe that alcohol played a role in the crash taking place. Investigations are currently ongoing.
