Watersmeet, MI (January 1, 2024) – A man lost his life as a result of an accident that occurred in the Village of Watersmeet on Thursday evening. Officers from the Wakefield Post of the Michigan State Police responded to the scene of an accident at approximately 4:00 p.m. on December 28.
According to official reports, a 59-year-old man was working on a skid steer in the garage of his home. For unknown reasons, a hydraulic failure occurred. As a result of the failure, the bucket of the skid steer struck the man, causing severe injuries. The man was transported by ambulance to Aspirus Eagle River Hospital for emergency medical care. Authorities confirmed that he passed away from his injuries after arriving. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
