Macomb Twp, MI (December 9, 2021) - On Tuesday, December 7, an 81-year-old man was injured due to a traffic collision reported in Macomb Township. Initial reports reveal that the two-car crash occurred at approximately 8:15 a.m.
Responders were dispatched to the intersection of 21 Mile Road and North Avenue to assist at the scene. The 81-year-old driver was headed south on North Avenue in a silver Chevrolet S10 pickup truck when he tried to turn left onto 21 Mile Road.
The snow plow’s driver sustained no injuries in the collision. While crews worked to secure the scene, the westbound lanes of 21 Mile Road were closed from Fairchild Road to North Avenue. Northbound North Avenue was closed between Hall and 21 Mile Roads.
Paramedics and other responders were seen assisting at the site of the wreck, and the 81-year-old driver was rushed to a nearby hospital with critical injuries.
